Do you know a promising 15-17-year-old?

Trust for Sustainable Living are a proud partner of Rise, an initiative of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust. Since educators, parents, and community leaders like you are uniquely positioned to help us find talented young people who may go undiscovered or unsupported otherwise—we’re emailing you to make sure that the promising teens you know don’t miss out on this opportunity.

Learn more about Rise and encourage them to apply to Rise.

Rise is a program that finds promising young people and provides opportunity as they work to serve others throughout their lifetime. The program seeks young people ages 15 to 17 and encourages a lifetime of service and learning by providing support that may include need-based scholarships, mentorship, networking, access to career development opportunities, and the potential for additional funding as Rise Global Winners work toward solving humanity’s most pressing problems.

Unlike many traditional applications, Rise uses videos, projects and group interviews so applicants have multiple opportunities to showcase their potential. For applicants with low or no access to technology, we offer an alternative pathway through a paper application.

Rise is truly a global initiative! It does not matter what country you live in, background you come from, or academic experience you have. Whether you are interested in science, innovation, technology, art, policy, community organizing, or any other discipline—Rise wants to hear from everyone!

Talented young people from more than 170 countries have joined the Rise global community, with 200 Global Winners hailing from 63 countries. Meet the Global Winners here!

All applicants must be 15-17 years old as of July 1, 2024. If you know a talented young person who meets the age criteria, send them our unique link to apply by January 17, 2024.

Please help us to empower students and teachers globally, and make sustainability education accessible to all.
